Coach K’s Softball Camps offer an opportunity for players to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental skills of softball. Campers will be made aware of the characteristics that define successful softball players. Organized games between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have been practiced. Contests built into drills capture the learner’s attention, which results in attentive practice.
Drill progressions will be aimed towards recognizing and developing good habits in all aspects of the game. General courtesy, respect for teammates and opponents and the importance of hard work will be taught to the campers through example by the Governors coaches.
Our softball camps are staffed by the Austin Peay State University coaches and players. We pride ourselves in playing the game the right way. The “Governors” way.
Our Coach K’s Softball Camps in Clarksville, Tennessee range in ages and we should have a program to fit your needs. If you do not see a date that works for you at this time please check back to the site as we add new sessions often.

Our Facilities
Cathi Maynard Park
Cathi Maynard Park, home of Cheryl Holt Field, has been the permanent on-campus home facility for Austin Peay softball since the 2000 season, giving the team its first true home facility in the program’s history to that point.
Originally named Lady Govs Field upon its completion in 2000, the University renamed the facility in 2011 in honor of longtime administrator Cheryl Holt, who also was the program’s first coach. The current field replaced several off-campus locations that served as the softball program’s home since its formation.
Located on the southwest corner of the former football practice field puts it at the center of Austin Peay intercollegiate sports facilities, being surrounded by the Dunn Center (basketball/volleyball) and Raymond C. Hand Park (baseball) to the west, Morgan Brothers Soccer Field to the north, the Governors Indoor Tennis Center and Governors Stadium (football) to the east.
Austin Peay has continued to make improvements to Cathi Maynard Park since its completion, adding lights in 2003, replacing the outfield fence in 2007 and replacing the scoreboard in 2014. In addition, the dugouts (2005) and backstop (2007) were covered with bricks to compliment the university’s buildings.
The softball program also has a hitting facility of its own located beyond the right field fence. Constructed in 2005, the facility was enclosed in 2014 to allow practice and instruction during inclement weather.
Austin Peay State University does not sponsor, conduct, endorse or accept responsibility for the services described herein. Camp sponsors are not acting on behalf of the University.
